| So... I was sitting in IF and my computer blue screened (sounds good already) and restarts. Then after it restarted I tried to open WoW and it said it had an error, so I just ran the repair utility. Repair utility said it was good to go so I opened WoW and the error persisted. I decided to reinstall, after the 2 hours of that I started to patch it. Then an error came out and said it had a corrupted patch (2.4.1- 2.4.2). I tried to manually patch it and that did not work, ran the repair utility and said WoW was severely damaged and said to also reinstall. After this I was so mad i decided to reformat Windows and start from new. Started looking for my windows disk could not find and and called my friend to see if he had one, he tells me he has my disk. Tomorrow I will reinstall Windows and WoW and will hopefully be on for Thursday.

i had a very similar issue a while back where i couldn't open WoW. whenever i tried starting the game it would come up with errors saying my files were corrupted, so i did a repair and it didn't work, i re-installed WoW 3 times and that still didn't work. in my case it ended up being a bad stick of RAM, which is weird because it didn't affect any of my other files/programs on my computer, just WoW.
So if you're still having problems with it try taking 1 stick of ram out of your computer and try playing, and if that doesn't work then try a different stick. Or you could download the Windows Memory Diagnostic program and burn it to a cd and boot from it to test your RAM.
